Atlanta, GA--  (Submitted by GEHC)

Need to do some last minute holiday shopping but don’t want to drag the kids along with you to the mall?  No need to worry.  Drop off your kids at the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center (GEHC) for a special Green Living Kids program on Saturday, December 11, 2010.  You can also do some shopping for those special loved ones at the GEHC Green Your Holiday Event on the same day.

The Green Living Kids program is for ages 4 – 9 and will be conducted in two sessions. (10 AM until Noon and 1 PM until 3:00 PM).

“This is a great opportunity for parents to get some shopping done while their kids have an enjoyable, entertaining, and educational experience,” said Jason West, GEHC Director of Development.

Students will learn about the three R’s – reduce, reuse, and recycle.  They will discover what happens to the waste we produce and how we can produce less.

“During the first session, Zoo Atlanta and its Animal Ambassadors will make a special appearance,” added West.

The cost to participate is $12 per individual per session for Gwinnett County residents.  (Out of County residents pay $15 per individual per session.) GEHC members receive $1.00 off.
