NORCROSS, Ga. -- The Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District and Gwinnett County Police Department will hold a rededication ceremony Monday for a bridge named for a fallen officer.

The Interstate 85-Jimmy Carter Boulevard bridge is named for James "Chris" Magill, who was struck and killed by a drunk driver in May 1993.

A rededication of the bridge will be held at 1 p.m. at the Westside Police Precinct. Scheduled speakers include Gwinnett Village CID executive director Chuck Warbington, Gwinnett County Chief of Police Charles Walters and Sgt. Willie Bailey with the Gwinnett County DUI Task Force.

Gwinnett Village CID spokesman Joel Wascher said officials plan to build Georgia's third diverging diamond at the I-85/Jimmy Carter interchange.
