Rite Aid is Hosting Free Diabetes Screenings in 1,200 Pharmacies Nationwide including Atlanta

Atlanta, GA--  RiteAid holds its Annual Event Part of Rite Aid’s Focus on Diabetes Management, Year-Long Commitment to Patient Health & Wellness, Nov. 2nd - 4th.  Your local Rite Aid stores (22 in all) will be holding free Diabetes Solutions Day clinics from 2 to 6 p.m. as listed below.

WHY:    There are few health conditions more widespread than diabetes, which touches one out of every two Americans either directly or indirectly.

Rite Aid to Hold Free Diabetes Clinics

ATLANTA -- November is American Diabetes Month, and a number of Atlanta-area Rite Aid pharmacies will hold free Diabetes Solutions Days during the week of Nov. 1.

An annual tradition, these clinics are a great chance for patients and caretakers alike to brush up on the latest information from Rite Aid's clinical pharmacy team and the American Diabetes Association, a Rite Aid national strategic partner.

Clinics will take place at the following locations from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.:

Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® Comes to Atlanta

Atlanta, GA--The sidewalks of Atlanta will soon be filled with passion, perseverance and pink when the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure®, presented by Energizer, visits the area October 22-24.

Atlanta-residents are encouraged to visit designated sites to celebrate Komen 3-Day for the Cure participants’ accomplishments. These individuals spend months training for the event’s physical demands and fundraising at least $2,300 to fund life-saving research and community programs supporting education, screening and treatment.

Walk-In Flu Shots at Selected Locations

The Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale County Health Departments are now offering annual flu shots at their health centers (Buford, Lawrenceville, Norcross, Conyers, and Covington)  to everyone 6 months and older.  Both the nasal and injectable forms of the vaccine are available. 

The cost of a flu shot is $20. Methods of payments accepted include cash and credit.  Health Departments will bill Medicaid, Medicare Part B and some private insurance.  Appointments are not required.
