Weekend roadwork: The usual suspects

(WXIA) -- It's going to be "more of the same" on the Atlanta area's highways and interstates this weekend, as Georgia Department of Transportation crews take to the streets.

Drivers are asked to avoid travel on interstates 20 and 285, if possible. GDOT will close lanes in several areas, which could result in lengthy delays.

As always, all work is weather permitting.

Interstate 20

Three eastbound lanes will be closed between Langhorn and McDaniel streets from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge joint repairs.

Two westbound lanes will be closed between the Downtown Connector and Langhorn Street from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge joint repairs.

Two westbound lanes will be closed between Fulton Industrial Boulevard and I-285 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge joint repairs.

Two eastbound lanes will be closed between Almon Road and Highway 278 (Newton County) Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Old Oxford Road Bridge painting.

The on and off ramps at the Highway 278 exit (Exit 90, Newton County) will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge joint repairs.

Interstate 285

Two northbound lanes will be closed between Camp Creek Parkway and Campbellton Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for sign structure work.

Two lanes in each direction will be closed between I-85 and Northlake Parkway from 7:30 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Sunday for sign structure work.

Two northbound lanes will be closed between I-20 and Bolton Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for concrete rehabilitation.

Two southbound lanes will be closed between I-20 and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for concrete rehabilitation.

Interstate 85

One southbound lane will be closed at Sharpsburg-McCullum Road (Coweta County) from 9 p.m. Friday to 12 p.m. Monday for barrier wall installation.

Two southbound lanes will be closed between Indian Trail and Pleasantdale roads (Gwinnett/DeKalb counties) from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly for agriculture fence work.

One lane on the southbound ramp to Jimmy Carter Boulevard (Gwinnett County) will be closed from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly for roadway improvements.

Spaghetti Junction

One lane on the ramp from I-85 north to I-285 west will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work.

Two lanes on the ramp from I-285 east to I-85 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work.

Ga. 400

One southbound lane will be closed between the former toll plaza and I-85 from 6 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday for sign structure work and pacing.

One northbound lane will be closed between Lenox Road and I-285 from 7 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Surface Streets

Buckhead: One lane of Piedmont Road will be closed at Habersham Road Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for pipeline construction.

Decatur: One lane will be closed between Ponce de Leon Avenue and Paden Circle Saturday from 8 a.m. to early afternoon for sidewalk repairs.

DeKalb County: One lane of Memorial Drive will be closed between Moreland Avenue and Wilkinson Drive Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

East Lake: One lane of Memorial Drive will be closed between East Lake Drive and Candler Road Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Milton: Lanes will be closed on Birmingham Highway at New Providence Road/Providence Road Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for paving and concrete pours.

Roswell: One lane of Holcomb Bridge Road will be closed at Old Alabama Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
