ADOPT A PET: Meet Capone

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – If you dream of coming home to a wet nose, wagging tail and tons of kisses (in addition to, perhaps, a half chewed shoe or overturned trashcan) adopt a puppy from your local pet shelter. According to the ASPCA, approximately 5 million to 7 million domesticated animals enter animal shelters nationwide, every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized. However, you can change those numbers but adopting a companion for yourself or your family. Pets are an investment but, in our opinion, an investment well worth the money.

According to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, Capone, the nine-month-old Retriever mix is very playful and nice; they say he loves everyone. He would love to be in a family with children and a yard to play in. He will benefit from being trained and given lots of love.

Adoption fee for Sport is $100 and covers her spay surgery, up-to-date vaccinations and micro chipping. For more information, visit the website at www.hsnega.org or call the shelter at 770-532-6617, Mon.-Sat. 10-5 and Sun. 1-5. The Humane Society is located at 845 West Ridge Road in Gainesville.
