New Marlow's Tavern location in Dunwoody hosts cocktail party for grilling recipe contest finalists

DUNWOODY, Ga. -- On Saturday, September 8 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.,  Marlow’s Tavern in Dunwoody is celebrating the finalists of the restaurant’s “Get Up in Our Grill” Recipe Contest.

During the popular neighborhood tavern’s six-week long “Red, White and Brew” menu offering, which took place earlier this summer and featured seasonal American favorites, all eight locations of Marlow’s offered grill masters the chance to show of their skills in the Marlow’s Tavern Third Annual Grilling Recipe Contest. Interested grillers entered their favorite recipes from June 12 through July 23, and Executive Chef John C. Metz reviewed all recipes and determined the following six finalists:

·         Bennie Vann of Roswell: Kentucky sausage stuffed pork chops with bourbon-mustard glaze

·         Kim Youngblood of Lawrenceville: Asian shrimp sliders

·         Eddie Sun of Norcross: Asian dragon wings

·         Darren Standifer of Cumming:  stuffed roasted poblano pepper

·         Kevin Stovall of Austell: spiced turkey burger sliders with smoked gouda and BBQ caramelized onions

·         Billy Favara of Marietta: fire grilled corn on the cob with basil parmesan butter

                During the party, attendees will enjoy complimentary samples of the six winning recipes, drink specials and an awards presentation that will take place at 4 p.m. The grand prize winner will receive a Big Green Egg. The second prize is a $100 Marlow’s Tavern gift card, and the third prize is a $50 Marlow’s Tavern gift card.  All winners will receive “Red, White and Brew” limited edition t-shirts.

                The Dunwoody location of Marlow’s Tavern is located at 1317 Dunwoody Village Parkway, Suite 102; 770-559-7528. The restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
