September is National Biscuit Month | Restaurants
ATLANTA -- National Guacamole Day came and went without much fuss. National Junk Food Day just made us roll our eyes. But, National Biscuit Month? We're in the South, where REAL biscuits are made. We can't in good conscience ignore this month of delicious fluffiness.
The Flying Biscuit Café is celebrating the month by spilling their secret recipe. The 20th Anniversary Cookbook includes 100 recipes with favorites from the cafe and winners from local fans.
The Flying Biscuit Café will also be awarding free biscuits for one year to one customer in each of the Flying Biscuit Café's 13 locations. A total of 13 copies of The Flying Biscuit Café 20th Anniversary Cookbook purchased in-store will include a Golden Biscuit Ticket, awarding a year's supply of biscuits to a lucky customer in each of the communities The Flying Biscuit Café serves.
Other great biscuit stops in metro Atlanta include:
Silver Skillet: Yes, it's the definition of a greasy spoon. But it's Atlanta's most prestigious and historic greasy spoon. The list of customers include movie stars, presidents, every Georgia politician, and a long list of regulars. It survived the 14th Street construction and has appeared in more than a few movies and television shows.
Thumbs Up Diner: The Edgewood location has been an Atlanta breakfast institution for a decade. It now has six locations that brag about their homemade biscuits -- a lot.
