LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Although, local schools are on the cusp of summer recess students in the area will, no longer, back able to use summer as an excuse to impede their enrichment. The Gwinnett County Library System is sponsoring their annual summer reading programming for this year on May 22. The county offers programs for teens and children.

Participants can register online stating May 9, for the summer reading program. According to the system, “Travel the world this summer with awesome programs like Xbox Kinect and Wii gaming, movies, author events, craft programs, and lots more”.

Teens and children can go to a local branch and pick up their registration packet, set their reading goal and find out more about special programs and prizes available to them.

Children are eligible to win different prizes according to how many stickers they accrue.

The library offers a teen program, called “You are Here!” which is a part of a national collaboration that works toward giving teens a voice to express themselves. And “One World, Many Stories” which works to emphasize the importance of diversity and multicultural acceptance.

The library will be open during its regular hours and teens will be invited to read and partake in other programs during the day.
