NORCROSS -  On Tuesday, November 15 from 5:30-7:30pm, the entire Atlanta Hawks coaching staff, Atlanta Hawks Alumni Tom Gugliotta, Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena President, Bob Williams, Co-Owner of the Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena operating rights, Michael Gearon and United Way of Metro Atlanta President, Milton Little, Jr., served a Thanksgiving meal to 300 individuals at Meadowcreek High School, home to United Way of Metro Atlanta’s Gwinnett County Opportunity Zone.

“During the holiday season, many families won’t have the opportunity to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal, and we are grateful that the Atlanta Hawks are stepping up to change that for a number of families in Gwinnett County,” stated Milton Little, United Way of Metro Atlanta President. “We thank the Atlanta Hawks organization for its commitment to share in our mission of changing the lives of families in metro Atlanta.”

United Way of Metro Atlanta created four Opportunity Zones where volunteers and partners have developed a place-based strategy to open the doors of opportunity. In Opportunity Zones, United Way partners with families, agencies and community leaders to take long-term action to reduce the cycle of poverty. The Atlanta Hawks organization helped in these efforts by serving a Thanksgiving meal, courtesy of Levy Cares, at Meadowcreek High School.
